PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how Lee Oskar Enterprises, Inc. (“Lee Oskar Harmonicas,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use leeoskarharmonicas.com, including the Lee Oskar Harmonicas Store at leeoskarharmonicas.com/shop (the “Store”), our retailer locator, our newsletter signup, and our contact and support forms. The Store serves customers in the United States only. We extend the privacy rights described below to all U.S. residents, regardless of which state you live in. This policy replaces our Privacy Policy dated June 28, 2018.

Our HarmonicAlly™ app has its own privacy policy at harmonically.app. Our site links to other websites and services (retailers, distributors, YouTube, and others); their own privacy policies apply when you use them, and we aren’t responsible for their practices.

Information we collect

Information you give us: name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number, and order details when you purchase or create an account; your email and preferences when you subscribe to our newsletter; anything you send us when you contact us or ask for support; photos, reviews, stories, or social media handles you choose to send us; and your entries to any contest or giveaway we run.

Payment information: your payment-card details are collected and processed by Stripe, our payment provider. We don’t receive or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically: when you browse, we and our service providers collect standard technical data: your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at and move through the site, using cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and the Meta pixel. For location, we keep only your ZIP code, never your precise coordinates (see “Location” below).

Location

Our store locator finds nearby retailers two ways, and neither keeps your precise location. Type a ZIP or postal code and we use only that. Tap “use my location” and your browser asks your permission first; if you decline, nothing is sent. If you allow it, your coordinates are rounded in your browser before anything leaves your device, and on our side they’re immediately matched to the nearest ZIP code (in Canada, a 3-character postal area); the exact coordinates are then discarded; we don’t store them or share them with anyone. The search log keeps only postal code, country, product, store, and time (no IP address, no cookies, and nothing tied to you personally), and it lasts only for your browsing session. Separately, to pre-select your country (U.S. or Canada) on the locator form, we may check your IP address once through MaxMind’s GeoLite2 service over a secure connection; this isn’t stored, and the postal code you enter overrides it.

How we use your information

To process and ship your orders, provide customer and technical support, manage your account, send order and account notices, send marketing emails if you’ve opted in, run contests and giveaways you enter, display content you’ve sent us (see our Terms & Conditions), understand and improve how the site performs, measure and support our advertising, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.

Supporting local retailers

Lee Oskar Harmonicas has sold through independent music shops since 1983, and supporting them is part of how we operate. To help them stock the right instruments and parts for their communities, we may share aggregated and de-identified information with our retail and distribution partners, for example the ZIP codes where interest in particular products is strongest, and which products and keys are most in demand. This information is generalized to the ZIP-code level, combined across many visitors, and stored and shared with no personal data attached; we never share your name, contact information, or individual order details with retailers for this purpose.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and session working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used (Google Analytics), and measure and support advertising, including the Meta pixel. These analytics and advertising tools may share online identifiers and activity with Google and Meta. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of advertising-related sharing as described under “Your privacy rights.” You can also use industry opt-outs such as the Network Advertising Initiative and your Google ad settings. Some features may not work without certain cookies.

Do we “sell” or “share” your information?

We do not sell your personal information for money. But because we use advertising and analytics technologies like the Meta pixel and Google Analytics, our use of these tools may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out; see “Your privacy rights” below, including the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” option.

Email marketing

If you subscribe, we send news, tips, and offers. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out any time. Our marketing emails may include a small image that tells us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can see what readers find useful. We’ll still send transactional messages about your orders and account.

Contests and giveaways

If we run a contest or giveaway, the entry terms will say how we use your entry. If a partner is involved, we’ll name them in the entry terms and share your entry with them only where those terms say so; their own privacy policy then applies to what they do with it.

How we share information

Apart from the aggregated data described above, we share personal information with: service providers who help us run the site and fulfill orders (Stripe for payments, Orbit Merch for fulfillment, shipping carriers, and our email, hosting, and analytics providers), acting on our instructions; advertising and analytics partners (Google and Meta) through the cookies and pixels described above; contest partners as described above; authorities when the law requires it; and a successor in the event of a business sale or transfer, in which case we’ll post a notice on the site. We don’t share your personal information with promotional partners or other third parties for their own marketing, and we don’t otherwise share it.

Your privacy rights

We extend the following rights to all U.S. customers, regardless of your state:

• Know and access the personal information we hold about you, and the categories we collect, use, and disclose.

• Correct inaccurate personal information.

• Delete your personal information.

• Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.

• Opt out of targeted advertising and any “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information, using our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” option, available from the “Your Privacy Choices” link at the bottom of every page.

To make a request, email Sales@LeeOskarHarmonicas.com. We’ll confirm it, and we may need to verify your identity first; you may use an authorized agent. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising these rights. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response. We treat a browser-based opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid request to opt out of targeted advertising and any sale or sharing.

California residents

You have the rights above, plus the right to know the specific categories of personal information we collect (in the past 12 months: identifiers such as name, address, and email; commercial information such as orders; internet and device activity; and approximate geolocation) and, under California’s “Shine the Light” law, to request details about information shared with third parties for their own direct marketing (we don’t share your information for that purpose).

Visitors from outside the United States

Our site is visited from all over the world, though the Store only sells within the U.S. Wherever you are, your information is processed in the United States. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, or another place whose law requires consent before non-essential cookies are set, our analytics and advertising tools (Google Analytics and the Meta pixel) will not load until you accept them in the consent banner; essential cookies that keep the site working are used regardless. For EEA/UK visitors, our legal basis for processing is your consent (for cookies and marketing), performance of a contract (for anything you ask us to do), and our legitimate interest in running and securing the site. Wherever you live, you have the same rights to access, correct, delete, and receive a copy of your information, and to withdraw consent, described under “Your privacy rights,” and you can contact us the same way. EEA/UK residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority. Canadian subscribers: we send marketing email only with your express consent, and every message includes an unsubscribe link.

Children

The site is intended for a general audience and the Store for adults; neither is directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we don’t knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Data security and retention

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information, and we notify affected individuals of a data breach as required by law. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the revised effective date will appear at the top, and we’ll post material changes on this page. Information we collect is handled under the policy in effect when we collect it.
