Mike Fugazzi is a passionate vocalist and harmonica player who brings a fresh, genre-crossing approach to well-known songs. As a performer who artfully integrates the harmonica in place of traditional guitar or horns, Mike skillfully showcases the instrument’s versatility, relevance, and “star quality” in popular music.
With a style that’s noted as “lyrical, soulful, and technically accomplished,” Mike has been breaking harmonica stereotypes for more than two decades as a gigging musician, enthusiastically bending the musical genres like he loves to bend the notes on his Lee Oskar Harmonicas.
By day, a longtime public educator, Mike performs across the Midwest in an acoustic classic rock duo, plays solo shows with backing tracks, and frequently joins other well-known musicians as a featured guest artist on stage and in the studio. In addition, he actively shares educational content to encourage beginner harmonica players on social media platforms.
His greatest artistic inspirations for harmonica playing are Lee Oskar and John Popper of Blues Traveler (with whom he had the honor of performing onstage).
After many years of exploring harmonica techniques and styles, in the post-pandemic era, Mike fell back in love with the warm, pure sound of the harmonica itself, gravitating these days toward a clean sound with occasional effects for a natural and dynamic tone. With his emphasis on acoustic music, Mike particularly loves and appreciates the warmth and color of the tone of Lee Oskar Harmonicas.
Additionally, Mike greatly values the accessibility, interchangeability, and overall versatility of the Lee Oskar Harmonicas system. He finds the system easy to use and work with to play different genres and styles. Above all, as an artist who forged his own path and encourages others to do the same, Mike particularly resonates with the Lee Oskar Harmonicas brand ethos of authenticity, which is the driving spirit behind our defining campaign, known as For All. For Life.
We’re delighted to have Mike as part of Lee Oskar Harmonicas family of featured artists.
